How many hours sleep does the bird need to sleep?

Answers:

Hi Tracy,

Parrots need 12-14 hours of sleep per day. If they don’t get enough sleep, they can become quite “grumpy”.

Also, don’t think they are sleeping just because they are covered. If your parrot’s cage is located somewhere where you will be talking or watching TV at night, your bird is probably not sleeping. It’s important for your parrot’s cage to be located in an area with minimal traffic at night so they can get a good night’s sleep.

God bless,

Michelle Jay
