I want to get an African Gray Parrot but I am away at school for 6 hours and don’t want it to chew or pluck itself. Should I get one?

All parrots require a lot of interaction in order to stay happy and healthy.

In my opinion, as long as you can give your African Grey at least 2-3 hours of one-on-one interaction with you per day and provide plenty of stimulating toys for him or her to play with while you are gone, it should be fine.

Some parrot owners also like to leave a television or radio on for their parrot while they are gone during the day. 🙂

God bless,

Michelle Jay
